My Magic Wand is Broken
Several years ago my daughter, she was about 6 or 7 at the time, wrote the Tooth Fairy the following note she put under her pillow along with a tooth that had fallen out. Note: Please don't tell her I posted this, she's now a tween and would be SO embarrassed!:
It's hard to read, so here's what it says (Note: I've corrected the spelling for your reading ease):
Dear tooth fairy
Do you poof the money?
How come my dog doesn't bark at you?
Do you have a wand?
P.S. Please write back
Aahh, precious, right? All valid questions, I think, for a child.
The problem is, lots of adult job seekers expect the perfect resume or the perfect job to just magically appear (read: 'poofed').
So I have one thing to say: My Magic Wand is Broken!
For those of you who expect someone else to poof a result for you, there is no more fairy dust. I can't help you: you'll have to find someone else who is CLAIMING to still have some of the magic beans.
For those of you who have moved past the 'believing in the tooth fairy' stage, you know there is no magic fairy dust, no magic beans and no one can do it for you. You know it takes planning, preparation, hard work and the right support and you are willing to put in the time and effort.
I want to work with YOU if you fall into the 2nd category! Email me at: Brenda@Career3D.com with 'Not Looking for Magic Wand' in the subject line.
