We continue to hear how we have a mis-match between the experience of unemployed workers out there and the skills some employers need. It's a little frustrating to continue to hear how certain job categories and industries are having difficulty filling certain positions as noted in the article below: accountants, health care workers, software sales representatives, data analysts, physical therapists, electrical engineers.
If employers aren't finding what they want in this economy, I invite them to be a little more creative on the training/development side along with being more flexible in identifying the transferable skills that would work. A little out of the box thinking here please. Help a career coach out...as the quote from the movie Jerry Maguire says: "Help me...help you". http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2009/10/04/financial/f121226D49.DTL&#ixzz0TJIjdkX6 |
